A few weeks back, a bolt of lightening struck a cabin up by my parents. The cabin caught fire, and now is a total loss. Look at these pictures.
Last week while vacationing at the cabin, we walked around the cabin and talked to the owner.
The owner told us he was planning on retiring next year,
and living here.
This property was like a tourist attraction.
Very lucky that it was raining so hard, or the whole mountain, and many other homes could have gone up in flames as well.
Luckily, a couple of people live up there full-time. They were able to get out associations small fire vehicle, cut down some trees that were problematic and keep the fire contained until the local fire department arrived.
On our drive up to the cabin, we drove Gaurdsmans Pass. We enjoyed the change of scenery.
