Good Days

Today a long time friend came out to go running with me. We ran a geriatric 6.5 miles. I will take it, since I have not run in 3 months. It was a perfect way to start the weekend.

It was wonderful to chat with a sweet friend. Our backyards used to butt up to each other and we used to lift kids back and forth over the fence. Then she moved, then I moved, but we have stayed in touch.

She brought me this sweet gift. What a sweet surprise. Who does this? She does. She always would do little things for me like this.

To further explain how neat this lady is, she started a foundation at her kids High School to help kids that don't have the support at home to get into college. It gives them a mentor and help signing up for classes, grants, and getting to and from ACT tests. Very cool idea.

She also told me about how her son met a girl in his class who had a cavity but could not get it fixed because they were afraid of getting deported. Her son came home and asked his dad to pay for it.

What kind of place do we live in, that hard working people, cant get medical help because of fear. This country, or state, I guess.

In other news, Maggie got an early Valentine this week from a B-O-Y! Can you tell by her face how happy she is?

Love her dimples!

The crocheted necklace the same boy made her awhile back.

On Thursday morning I slept in and did not go to the gym. Good choice, because look who came into bed to cuddle. They wanted to read books. I have read this book to them so many times!!!
