The scat field trip

I joined Luke's class on a field trip to Silver Lake today. I loved it. I was so happy to be in the mountains, and spend time with my oldest child.

Every child tie-dyed a t-shirt to be worn on field trips.

Cool idea.

I call it the scat field trip, because the kids loved saying that word, and loved looking for it.

Our tour guide-Richard loved scat. He even picked it up to examine. This happens to be moose scat. If I didn't balk enough when he picked it up, I sure did when he was teaching the kids it was safe to pick up and examine, squeeze etc.

Luke happened to know his scat as well. He was the first to pick out the mink scat. Such a proud moment for me.

Let me tell you about this tour guide. I was in trouble before the tour even started. Luckily for me, a kid took the heat and attention off of me. This is what he told the kid, "You really need to use your brain before you open your mouth.....it is like nothing gets digested before it is spewed out of your lips." I bet he does not have kids or grandkids of his own--just a guess.
