Christmas Eve 2010, we decided to deep fry a turkey. We were dying to try out the method. We borrowed some equipment from friends, bought two turkeys from Costco, made a dry rub, and we were off. Not many people had much faith in our efforts and were convinced we would be part of a statistic of burning down our home. I am happy to announce they were wrong.
Check this one off our bucket list as well. I decided that a deep fried turkey is a high maintenance turkey. They take a lot of prep and babysitting. Not to mention the clean up.
We bought two turkeys. Why? They cook quite fast, and the oil is ready to go. We could then freeze the leftovers and be efficient. Turns out it just went to waste. No one ever remembered to put it in the freezer. Disappointment galore!
